The main advantage of the system is that it is a cost effective solution for constant on-line monitoring of water delivery system, providing real-time alarms for water leaks or burst pipes. The system is powered by innovative algorithms for leak detection in complex pipeline networks. The system is based on distributed signal processing and ultra low power communication system enabling up to 4 years of maintenance free operation. Near real time sensor for detection of reproducible microorganisms

By detecting the culturable / colony forming microorganisms only, it provides a CFU count equivalent to what would be obtained using plate count method. The technology is based on the discovery of a specific intracellular activity.
TACount intends to replace the conventional method of cell culture that takes several hours to a few days, by providing an equivalent count in a matter of minutes.
The technology may be used in a broad range of applications in the field of industrial microbiology such as drinking and wastewater, pharmaceuticals and food and beverage production lines. Evina Ltd. has a worldwide, exclusive license from YEDA, the technology transfer company of the Weizmann Institute of Science, to develop and commercially exploit the technology developed by Prof. Vivian I. Teichberg, a member of the Neurobiology Department at the Weizmann Institute of Science.
There are about 8.6 million backyard swimming pools in the U.S.A, and about 20 million worldwide.
The chlorine used as a sanitizer in swimming pools, is very unstable due to photolysis by the sun's ultra violet rays. It thus breaks down and loses effectiveness as a disinfectant. In swimming pools, where chlorine stabilizer product such as sodium trichloroisocyanuric acid is used, the by-product cyanuric acid progressively accumulates. Excess cyanuric acid complex with chlorine thereby abolish its disinfection role. In the absence of a dedicated solution the pool water has to be either totally drained or extensively diluted with fresh water in order to maintain the water quality of the swimming pool.
Evina Ltd. is developing a biotechnology-based filter through which pool water circulates and cyanuric acid is removed. The filter consists of a solid support to which the biotechnological entity is immobilized and enables the degradation of cyanuric acid. This biotechnological entity is unique; extremely selective; natural and does not contain add chemicals.
It has been estimated that the USA pool and spa industry worth about $8 billion per year and continues to expand more that 8% annually, driven by:
i) The ever increasing life expectancy and tendency to stay active at old age in Western countries.
ii) Convenience enhanced by improved swimming pool construction technology
iii) Higher demand for branded chlorinated isocyanurates as well as branded and non-branded calcium hypochlorite.
iv) The published data estimated that 69 million households in the U.S. have the financial wherewithal and the yard space to own a swimming pool, but only 11% of those households have one.

OTECH – A revolutionary water and waste water aeration technology
Diffusaire Ltd. is developing low-cost and high efficiency aeration systems for the waste water treatment industry. Aeration is a process by which air is dissolved in a liquid. It is widely used to increase the oxygen content of water in waste water treatment plants (WWTP) and fish farms, wherein the oxygen consumption by living organisms is greater than the natural rate of water re-aeration.
Most of the wastewater treatment worldwide is performed by aerobic biological processes. Energy requirements for wastewater treatment have been estimated by the DOE to be up to 1.5% of total US electricity consumption, at an annual cost of about US$ 1.6 billion in the US alone. The high operating cost associated with wastewater treatment even causes some places in the world to discharge untreated wastewater to the environment.
The OTECH technology by Diffusaire is a hybrid system, comprising of diffusing air into pumped liquid. The system enables to double the bubbles retention time in the liquid, thus reducing the power consumption by approximately 50%.
Diffusaire targets the global market of aerobic wastewater treatment, where it will be offering a reduction of up to 50% in aeration system power consumption and capital costs. For retrofitting existing wastewater treatment facilities, Diffusaire shall offer a fast project ROI of less than one year.

Increasing global demand for potable and agricultural-grade water, coupled with decreasing supply sources, poses a growing challenge to the water & wastewater treatment and purification industries. Particularly, excessive use of treatment chemicals for coagulation, flocculation and disinfection of aqueous streams create both an operating cost and an environmental burden.
Kolmir’s ultrasonic technology utilizes inherent water properties to promote rapid and cost-effective coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation and disinfection of aqueous streams while drastically reducing use of treatment chemicals. Using a unique ultrasonic generator, significant reaction is obtained within the water which enables to reduce operating cost by more than 30%.
The technology will be incorporated as partial or full replacement of traditional water treatment separation processes where chemical coagulants & flocculants are added prior to gravitational sedimentation of suspended contaminants. It will also partly replace chemical oxidants used for disinfection. The value proposition includes significant reduction in treatment chemicals, reduction in operating costs and downsizing of operation modules.

Innovative laser based particle monitoring technologies
PML has conceived, developed and patented a breakthrough in-process particle size analyzer (PSA). The PML system measures particle size and concentration, differentiating between distinct particle populations according to their optical properties.
PML has developed technology and system that are based upon a unique structured, "dark" laser beam, interacting with the particles. The technology enables automatic and continuous monitoring of particle sizes (including sub-micron particles) and concentrations, in water before and after filtration.
The system also differentiates between particles categories, such as clay, carbon, algae, germs, parasites and viruses.
PML is a start-up company founded as a spin-off from the Technion and financed by the State of Israel, a strategic Australian partner and the European Union. The company is considered to be in an advanced research and development stage with the first market launch expected in 2009.
PML and Mekorot have been cooperating to develop and complete a beta site at one of the Mekorot facilities, as a first step towards commercialization of the system.
The company was selected by Fiat to head a research consortium to develop a method of measuring and analyzing vehicle emissions in order to meet the increasingly strict EU and US standards.
